can you run bathroom exhaust fan to central air return?

I recently bought a two flat. The bathroom in the downstairs does not have a exhaust fan. It is going to be almost impossible to run the duct up to the attic and out the roof. Can I fun the exhaust duct to the A/C return duct that is already in the bathroom? Since this is made for return air, I don't foresee a problem. Has anyone done this or is there a reason I should not do this?

Update:

Don't think the stink will be a problem. The return ducts do not blow directly back out the go through the filter. As for the moisture will it really be that bad. The house is not small, I can't imagine the moisture would be that much dissipated over a larger area. I am currently getting mold on the ceiling in the bathroom because of no exhaust.

Typically the bathroom exhausts to the outside to remove the moisture in the air. I would not use the return air duct because it does not directly vent to the outside and you could increase your moisture content in your home. This is obviously problematic due to increased spore/bacterial, allergens, etc.

I don't think you've thought this entirely through. What happens when someone drops a bomb in the bathroom and all that stink gets piped into your central a/c return? Technically speaking, I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this, but the real question is do you actually want to do this.

Just go by a air purifier and some candles and put it in there. If there is a lot of moisture build-up, they make products that catch moisture and puts it in a cup/bowl to be empty.
