    Hey Punch!! New Music yay!

I actually started my own series "Old Music Tuesdays" while I was waiting for this question!

Have not heard ANY of those links yet so I will edit and get back to you (though I doubt I can top the thoroughness of Indian Dotter's answer!)

As for my New Releases... today we also have the release of Between the Buried and Me's first EP, "The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues" which is a fantastic bit of Progressive Metal/ Metalcore. I might like it more than Colors, TBH! (I featured it last week on a Q, based off some leaks)

Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax Hypersleep Dialogues - Specular reflection

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILkDBfwPR9I

    Augment of Rebirth

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMmACKDOV_8&feature...

    Lunar Wilderness

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS9lWMOWIUU&feature...

    simply a fantastic album.

I'm also very intrigued over Last Chance to Reason's "Level2" video game/interactive concept album. It sounds very ambitious!

"Level 2 is a new take on both the concept album and the videogame. It is a melding of both arts into a unified experience. In Level 2 you will battle through fully interactive interpretations of Last Chance to Reason’s futuristic progressive metal. The game/album’s story unfolds through thematic riffs, stirring vocal hooks and progressive virtuosity while the player blasts his way through vicious gameplay inspired by classics such as R-Type, Contra, and Super Metroid. It has been announced on February 7th, 2011 that Level 2, a collaboration effort between LCTR and indie game developer Tom Vine will be released on April 12th, 2011 through Prosthetic Records."

so.... I will return sometime after dinner to review your selections too!

    *EDIT*

OK sorry it took a bit to get back, too much personal drama going on last night to give a fair listen.

    So on to your links:

    1) Nine Types Of Light

-Actually a pretty groovy idea, and I do thin more band swill end up going multi-media as it seems this generation needs more and more distractions to remain "invested" in anything (which is ironic since it means they are actually LESS invested, but whatever). Last Chance to Reason making an interactive video game album is further proof of that. Overall though the intro was too long, and the music while decent was not enough to keep me invested for an hour... I found myself skipping ahead quite often.

    2) TV On The Radio - Will Do

-Single track by itself much better. A band I think I can do in doses, bu tno tone I see myself sitting through an album size sitting of. Nice track.

    3) Foo Fighters - Rope

-Sound like a Foo Fighters album. Not much else to say. Don't mind if its on at the store, would not seek it out though. I much prefer Grohl's work with Them Crooked Vultures, TBH.

    4) Paul Simon - So beautiful or so what

-Sorry my friend, something about Paul has never resonated with me, I just.. IDK, never have been able to get invested in his sound, and still can't. (Same problem I have with Peter Gabriel and Sting actually, they just really bore me. =/)

    5) Tomboy - Panda Bear

Hm...... the production value of Black Metal.. set to vedic chants? Or something? I see why the Cap asked if it was recorded in a well. I think I would leave Panda Bear in one TBH. =/

    6) Thursday - "Magnets Caught In A Metal Heart"

That was actually pretty decent, might have to give it another listen

    7) Pentagram - Call the Man

Solid, if unspectacular Metal piece. Nice classic sound though. No shock coming from a band with their history, I reckon.

Well, no shocker here either, I preferred the Pentagram track. that Thursday song and TV On The Radio track were both pretty decent too. The rest, kinda MEH.

Also, looked up the Paper Airplane track people were talking about and loved it. But I usually do love Allison Krauss.

Hey there, Punch! I probably won't be on y!answers a lot this week... definitely not until i get out of my awful procrastination habit and pull up my math grade. So the next time you'll see me doing heavy-duty Q&A will probably be on Friday, when I finally start that R&P exhibit voting round for the bands... fingers crossed that people just might like it!! :O

But anyways, YES! I definitely like the Foo Fighter's new album, Rope is great, and I must say I like their new album quite a bit. Heard a rumor that they're gonna release a movie...

Haven't been listening to that much music.. but recently got Radiohead's OK Computer album and I love it! I was blasting it on my computer but my sister hates it. Most of my family hates my music taste, lol.

But a song a really loved...

    Airbag - Radiohead

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgE29oRPhrI

you probably have heard this, but I find it a great song from the Stroke's new album, "Angles"... impressive album...

Under Cover of Darkness - The Strokes

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l09H-3zzgA

^Actually, I paused to watch this video. Turns out, I have one of the guitars that are being played in there! Cool!

From the amazing album Congratulations (an album I dearly love), are you in a Flash Delirium?

Have you ever seen the music video for this song, Punch? The ending kinda creeps me out. How about you?

    Flash Delirium - MGMT

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvSMp7T2Kes

Got the entire Superunknown album from Soundgarden, and I like it.. one of my favorites:

    Limo Wreck - Soundgarden

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Il0mJwNqI

Enjoy! And I definitely had fun, as usual... thanks so much Punch! :)

p.s. when will the next round of the battle of the divas come out?

Source(s): good people, good influences, can't wait!

    hey punch, part-time reg and r+p record-breaker,

i hope you have a note for missing last thursday's seminar...

leaving your list aside for now, my choices this week are:

    c'mon - low

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWdC8juULNw

the problem with pre-orders sometimes is that they're only dispatched on release day. should have it in my hands tomorrow.

and i didn't even know about this one until last week,

    silesia - jeniferever

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuAaZgIeWVQ

i have been working hard so far this week, but a trip to the record shop on my day off tomorrow is a must.

    ok, to the popular releases...

tv on the radio - never really been a fan. still aren't.

foo fighters - i find this tune really grating. off-key, off-beat. off button.

paul simon - i will wave to him at glastonbury for you. probably while i'm walking past to watch some hipster combo who will be irrelevant the following week...good tune. would work well with tinariwen.

panda bear - interesting. recorded down a well?

thursday - ho hum. dare i say i prefer friday?

pentagram - surely this is as cliched as any pop artist? i've hung up.

  • "Wasting Light" by the Foo Fighters

I'm listening to "I Should Of Known", man...this song is definitely the highlight of the album, well, in my opinion it is. So emotional, beautiful chorus.

"Back and Forth" is a great arena rock anthem with an incredibly catchy chorus.

As for the other songs on the album...it's 10:44...10:45 pm, and i'm too tired to go any further.

    Source(s): Don't punch me!

I bought the new Foo Fighters album today, and I gotta say it's really good. It's their best album since, There Is Nothing Left to Lose.

I'm with Killer Peaches I also bought BTBAM's The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues (EP), it's a 30 minute epic ride I'll leave it at that. :P

Tomboy is a awesome song. I like Thursday's vocalist but other than they are not really my type of music. Never been a fan of the others, although that Foo Fighters song's not bad.
