Well it's all about what you're after, Tae Bo is an exorcise routine, it's a combination of tae kwon do and boxing thus tae and bo it was invented in the 90s by Billy Blanks, who is from all accounts a great martial artist. It's also almost useless as a fighting style. If you want a good workout, a sense of community and you want to learn how to fight find yourself a nice medium sized kickboxing gym with casual classes. So the difference is that Tae Bo is a workout routine and kickboxing is a fighting style.

I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do so I like that quite a bit but it depends on your goals. Tae Kwon Do is a striking kicking type of sport like Karate. Jujitsu is pretty good for street fighting as includes striking and grappling. Kick boxing isn't really a martial art and it's mostly geared towards point scoring in the ring (which is kind of phony) and doesn't seem to have the effectiveness of either Tae Kwon Do or Jujitsu.
