My teacher said to use "endnotes" is this the same as a standard bibliography at the end?

For a research paper, my teacher only said to use endnotes instead of footnotes to cite, he didnt really specify beyond that. So my question is are endnotes the same as a standard Bibliography that you'd put at the end of the paper? Or is there more to it? Also if he said no footnotes I would assume that means no in-text citations? I'm just having trouble understanding the difference between endnotes, footnotes, bibliographies, and in text citations. Any help would be appreciated!

And Mary Reeve says "Roses are Red". (1)

The end note can give the standard ref citation, Plus you can add extra details eg, Ann wrote this book whilst recovering from a motor vehicle accident.

But perhaps your teacher wants you to use the end notes purely as a standard citation.

If so the difference is merely that instead of following the quote with the authors name and page number (Jones, 234) you just give a sequential number 1, 2, 3 ...
