"System Restore" virus or other problem...?
Randomly, my laptop seized up and all of my programs/files/documents/photos/music "disappeared." At first it looked like it was deleted, but after restarting the computer, iTunes came up and all of the songs still work, so I'm confused. All of my program's files were still in my Program Files folder. But in the (C:) there was a program/virus thing called "System Restore," so I deleted that and it's folder. I'm now running a few virus scans, but I'm really concerned as to what will become of my "hidden" files and such.
Honestly, I'm not even sure if the "System Restore" thing is related to the "disappearance" of my stuff since the laptop is so screwed up anyways. =A=;;
Still, can I get some help, please? I'm freaking out! D:
I already ran a System Recovery for a date nearly two weeks ago.

after you remove the virus with the free program Malwarebytes anti-malware....you will have to fix the .exe to the computer so all programs open properly......

Try to make a system restore first, before doing anything.. and set the restore point to the date before you encounter the problem.

every windows system comes with a system restore, although wouldn't be suprized if a fake one used that name. run a malware scanner in safemode.
