Dish Network DVR recording half shows on TV1 half on TV2?
I recently got Dish Network DVR for two of my T.V's. Whenever I set it to record a series on TV1 it sets some of the episodes to record on TV1 and some of them on TV2. Because the second TV belongs to someone else in the house I need all of the episodes to be recording on TV1 and the only way I've found that I can change it is by waiting until the episode is supposed to air and then cancelling it on the second TV and manually starting a recording on TV1, thus defeating the point of DVR. Is there a setting somewhere to force all episodes of a show to record on the TV they are set up on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there! My name is Becki Barned, with DISH Network. You will need to change your record plus settings ( Menu 8-5). In this menu, you can set the recording preference to record to TV1, or TV2. Or you can turn it off and then choose where you want the recordings to go. I hope this helps! You can email me at becki.barned@dishnetwork.com if you have any trouble!

The Dish Network rep is correct, and you can click the thumbs down button on Daniel, as I did, or just report his BS answer. As the Dish rep said, just go into the menu and press the 8 and then the 5. That will take you to the "record plus" menu, at which point you can set the recordings to favor one TV over the other. Just keep in mind that if you have 2 shows being recorded in the same time slot, both TV's will be tied up during the process. By default, the receiver is setup to record shows on TV2, as the most common setup for these receivers is TV1 in a living room or family room and TV2 in a bedroom. They are figuring that most people will be using their main TV's less than their bedroom TV's so they try to prevent the recordings from interfering with watching TV on TV1. Hope this helps.

it also helps if you select "0" as the start early/ end late and set as default for all timers so back to back recordings do not interfere with tv1 viewing live t.v.
