What would be a more grown up term for "boyfriend"?
I'm not really comfortable in calling my boyfriend a "boyfriend" for the mere fact that we are not kids any more. We're in our 30's and we've been together for over 3 years! We live together and are basically a married couple, except that we're not married and I don't want to call him my "husband" for that reason. I'm not sure about calling him my "partner" either because that makes it sound like a business relationship! "Man-friend" just sounds funny!
Any suggestions?

Sometimes I find it's easier to call mine 'my husband' as that's what people presume anyway!
I don't mind saying 'partner' as it does sound quite grown up!!

Unless you are engaged or married, the only thing to call him other than boy friend is partner

I think the boyfriend term is for all ages from teens to seniors.
If you are shy calling him boyfriend, well just introduce him using his name.
"Hello, this is Jack"
