Does it really matter?

Once we trudge through all of the BS at any given time, other than political affiliation, does it REALLY matter if it's a democrat or republican on Capital Hill?

In a lot of cases----no. In some, very much so. For example, McCain was just quoted as saying only draconian measures would lead us out of this financial mess. The biggest difference between McCain and Obama is their support system. No, McCain would not have been much better, but he isn't backed by the evil that backs Obama and America wouldn't cower in the corner afraid to be called a racist for calling for his removal. It's something we have to look at in 2012---maybe THIS time more people will do their homework and not run to the voting booth based on a letter behind the name. Check out their voting records, their history, see if it matches up with their current rhetoric. Keeping in mind....those who would stilll vote for Obama are not worth conversing with on the issue. Don't waste your time because all they want to do is call you names and invoke Bush. Worthless.

Well, I haven't been very happy with how government was run with everyone of one party either way. Give me split government every time and we'll have more voices heard.

Not as far as I'm concerned.

Neither party has my best interests in mind when they make decisions, so I don't usually care which side wins. It's always a disappointment.

only slightly... in the end, we're all arguing over about a real, tangible 5 percent of issues that have any real chance of changing...

but I guess technically that 5 percent is a difference?
