Is anyone an Australian defence force cook? What's it like?

I'm considering discharging from the army in January after my period of service is up, because I'm not enjoying my chosen job. However, I'd also like to learn a trade and I like cooking - I might transfer jobs instead and stay in the military, because I like the army lifestyle. I'd like to know what it's like though, if anyone has any experience. What are the hours like? Do you work every weekend? Do you get cook's qualifications that are recognised in the civvy world? I've looked at the recruiting website but that only tells you so much. I'm particularly looking for someone in the Australian military, because it may differ from country to country. If anyone can offer some insight it'd be greatly appreciated. According to the recruiting website, the army is desperate for cooks, RAAF and navy not so much. I'm currently in the army but am willing to switch services. Thanks!
