Can i work in the UK with a UK passport?

im a US citizen and i have a UK passport since my dad is still a UK citizen.. Can i work in the UK with a Uk passport|?

    Yes you can - all you need to do once you arrive is have proof of an address (lease, utility bill, etc) and apply for a National Insurance Number (like your SSN in the US) at your local Job Centre and you can work wherever you want - assuming you can find a job in this economy

    If you have a British passport ( or dual nationality as I do: born in Britain, grew up in Australia and so also have an Australian passport) you are a British citizen, and entitled to equal status with current residents.

    I returned to live in Britain, and merely needed to register here with Social Services so that I paid the annual tax, allowing free NHS and unemployment benefits etc. And even lined up a locum job in my profession so I walked into paid employment whilst I found my feet and looked around for a permanent job.

    Uk Passports means you are a British citizen and therefore doesn't require you to have a work permit.
