Community guidelines violation?
I asked a question about Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT) in mathematics and engineering which was deleted for violating community guidelines. How is this process done? The guidelines say they can delete your e-mail account too. Does this mean that using Yahoo e-mail is unreliable if trolls decide to target your account? Is there any recourse? They do not say anything about the nature of the violation.

Yes the guidelines indicate that your email account could be suspended for excessive violations. However, this does not mean that using Yahoo email is unreliable... for multiple reasons.
For one... no one made you start using Yahoo Answers. Your choice to participate in Yahoo Answers was your own. It is not a requirement of having a Yahoo Email account. There are PLENTY of people who have and use Yahoo email accounts that do not participate at all on Yahoo Answers.
For another... if you actually did nothing wrong, and your question was not an actual violation, you will have no problem proving this when you appeal the violation, and your question will get reinstated. When you file an appeal, and you are polite, informative, and to the point, an actual human will be reading the appeal and making a decision. When it is clear that your question was NOT a violation, they put it back and they apologize to you for the mistake. So, you had better be making your appeal soon.
How is this process done? Two or more users clicked the Report Abuse link at the bottom of your question. Once enough reports have been sent, the content is removed automatically. It is not reviewed by any official people beforehand.
As far as actually getting your email account deleted for a single violation.. that would have to be some NASTY violation. I mean, you'd have to have EARNED that violation, and KNOW that you earned it... and you'd have to have violated most of the guidelines in one question or answer. Otherwise, you have nothing to worry about. A single violation that will be appealed won't get your email account deleted.

In the email you got for the violation is an appeals link. If you want to know the reason for the violation, post "Why was this question (answer) a violation?" and add the original e-mail you got so the users can see the exact context. The experienced users here will explain it to you. There is no statute of limitations on breaking the YA rules. Your violation was probably a formatting problem.

Without knowing exactly what the question was, it's impossible for us to say.
Did you get a violation email? If so, what did it say?
Did the question expire with no answers? If so, Y!A deleted it (they don't send emails for this scenario).
Did the question end the 'in voting' process with "No Best Answer" as the winner? If so, Y!A deleted it (again, no email is sent).
Y!A also deletes questions if the Best Answer is reported and deleted.

It sounds like some human beings don't comprehend how mature and severe the M&D regulars are... yet, to grant you my perspective, Ace, i don't comprehend the way you're able to anticipate those human beings to ascertain the community policies. particularly circumstances, it form of feels that they have a no longer undemanding time examining one question formerly "verbally" leap on the asker. and that i do agree that the anonymity of reporting and TDing sell those strikes. There could be much less of them if one became into pressured to take the accountability of each. Disclaimer: i'm married and so is my husband, and that i enable human beings to respond to as quickly as I deliver hatemail ... one uptill now... engaged on the 2nd so it's going to be waiting whilst mandatory :-)
