Diatomaceous Earth to get rid of fleas?

Has anyone ever used this powder stuff? Does it work? Apparently there's all different formulas, you can sprinkle it on your dog to get rid of fleas. I want to get some peoples opinions about it and if it actually does the trick. Thanks

The only kind of DE you should use with a dog is food grade.

The other kind is for swimming pool filters and can hurt a dog.

My dogs are inside so I don't use it on them for fleas just because of the dust. I have used it in my carpet. I use it all the time internally for my animals as a wormer. As a wormer, it works like a charm. It seems to take a little longer but is much safer then the chemical worms.

I feed it to my dogs, cats, chickens, and even now a new pig.

Ive heard positive an negative things about it. The fact that it is natural is a good thing, however, it depends on the area you live in and the possibility of infestation. Example: My friend uses it. she lives in a suburban community and her puppers only go out in her backyard. It has worked fine for her. Although she has had several ticks on her dogs. We live on a large farm and my dogs are always out with us running the property. I gave it a shot...once. When Cera came in loaded with ticks ( and several fleas) that was enough for me.

I do like the fact that it is natural...so if it works for you and your pets..i say go for it.
