does skyward sword come before minish cap?
I think it does because it takes place in the sky and since its before minish cap which is the first on the time line (timeline: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/zelda-retrospect... (without skyward, ive figured out the play for the rest excluding the oracle set since they can be in either one. ) it makes sense to be the first but i want more public opinion so i want to no what you think

Every non Zelda player who wants a quick crash course watches and falls for this because of its notoriety, but mainly because, despite that it's outdated BY 6 YEARS, it still seems to be widely accepted.
I find it hilarious. He gets several games wrong and shoves his own unfounded theories down your throats. My IQ dropped for havng watched it. At least he did his homework and got the Legend of the Zelda II princess story right.
But here's what's wrong with this video and why no self respecting Zelda fan should believe it...
A) Gustaf was "an ancient King of Hyrule" according to Minish Cap. But After Link meets Gustaf's ghost it says no more of him, the game doesn't say he was the first king, OR the hero of men who appeared in the opening prologue. He just assumed that and shoved it down your throat. For all he knows, the orignal Zelda who was put in the deep sleep by her brother's 'Wizard' (Magician in the Zelda II booklet) could have been his daughter, or it could have happened before Gustaf's time.
B) He says Link's Awakening happens after Majora's Mask. Link's Awakening occured after Link to the Past because it was created as the follow up. The booklet mentions Link's trials and how he embarked on a journey of enlightenment to prepare himself if another threat like Ganon should threaten his homeland again. The Nightmare version of Ganon that Link fights is from his past encounter in LttP, not OoT. Another one of his throat shoving theories.
C) What war does Ganon win while he's gone? He kind of left out the part in his timeline how he got free of his seal and got the Triforce of Power. He could have said 'uhhh... maybe it happened while Link was out getting milk...?' How convenient
D) The north Hyrule of Zelda II theory has been around since the days of the Zelda cartoon which originated in the Zelda comic book by Valiant, who also published comics of Captain N and Super Mario Brothers based on the cartoons. It Is Not Game Canon. If you believe this then it's the same as accepting the Zelda Cartoon (Excuuuuuuse me, Princess!) as part of the official game story. Hate to say it, but it's true. I have that exact issue along with the entire short-lived run, it was a nice pin-up by the artists working with the material they had at the time, which were the first two NES Zelda games. He's using that comic book "map" out of context as an official game map.
E) The Oracle of Ages happening after Wind Waker? In his split timeline why do the Shrine of the Triforce shown in both Oracle opening cutscenes look exactly alike in both games? Where did a new land mass exactly matching Hyrule which was washed away after Wind Waker come from?
F) He skipped a game, the first Four Swords on the LttP GBA port. The Gamecube Four Sword Adventures is Not a remake or update of the GBA Four Swords because the opening story of Four Sword Adventures recounts Vaati's defeats in both Minish Cap and Four Swords. By the way, how did Ganon get free of the Four Sword after the end of the Four Sword Adventures?
That's just for starters. I'm not going to correct every mistake for the hacks that made unwilling sheep out of the poor masses, they can do it themselves IF they ever decide to do an update. I can go on forever poking, then shooting big shotgun shell sized holes in the theories of any fan, but there's no room. Simply put Nintendo doesn't care for or have a definitive timeline, if they did it would put restraints on what they can do, and that's why there is never a sequel to a sequel. Nintendo is free to do what they wish, and they make great games because of it, and we as faithful fans should respect that. But if you want to turn blue in the face playing connect the dots with tidits of "coulds" and speculative theory then that's also fine. Just don't go posting a video shoving half-baked heckneyed theories down everybody's thoats
To answer your question, Skyward Sword will be the first game in the story as it depicts the origin of the Master Sword. Who can even say for sure if Minish Cap predates Ocarina of Time. Minish Cap was developed by Capcom with help from Nintendo while they busy were making Twilight Princess, so it might not have been been their intention. Skyward Sword might even show the origin of Hyrule as it's depicted as a land of chaos and evil monsters. In all likelyhood, it probably will since Minish Cap takes place in Hyrule
