I just got a debit card.?
It has a mastercard logo on it, does that mean I can use my debit card as a credit card when I don't have money in my account?

That just means that your card will be accepted at any business that takes Mastercard but you need to have money in your account. If you spend more money than you have you will be charged non-sufficient funds fees, up to $39 per transaction.

No, when you use your debit card the money will be taken out of your checking account when you make a purchase.
You can pay a credit card back over time and money isn't taken out of your checking account until you pay the credit card bill.
Debit card and credit card transactions use Visa or Mastercard to process payments and that's why there is the logo.
