Have anyone heard this story before?

I've seen an article written from somewhere (I can't remember where) that there's one bizarre incident happened where millions of butterfly came from somewhere in the middle of the ocean and land on a ship.At first, the passenger and the crew were amazed by this beautiful scene, but then more and more butterfly land on the ship that they actually sink the ship. This happened about 80 or 90 years ago.Have anyone else heard this story?

No. It is impossible. Butterflies are too light. A ship could be completely covered with butterflies, occupying every last square millimetre, and it wouldn't be a centimeter deeper in the water.

No it's just an urban myth. Any idea how many butterflies it would take to sink a ship.

    hahahahahaha...

a butterfly weighs hardly a few milligram...it would require about thousands or could be about a million of butterflies to weigh equal to a human...and i don't think that the weight of a single person is enough to sink a ship...maybe it was a "boat"...!!!

huh?,never heard of it,but it sounds unlikely butterfly's are really light so you would need way over millions to sink a ship lol
