Which would you get? Why?

Yes, I asked the other day, hoping to get more info.

I've been looking into "toy" breeds. I've narrowed it down to the Toy Fox Terrier, The Min Pin, or the Rat Terrier. My requirements are easy, I want a very small dog, but trainable, dog with a low maintenance coat. I'm hoping height dog for flyball so I'll probably persue a rescue that I know has ball drive, and not a puppy, but I'm having a hard time deciding which breed I like the best. They're all very similar. So which would you choose? And why?

Update:

Paps and regular size fox terriers were under consideration too. I took paps off because I really am not a fan of grooming, I'd rather spend the time playing and training and Fox terriers came off because if I'm going small, I want small enough to be a good "height dog" for flyball. The regular size Fox T's are kinda tall for that.

Update 2:

Oh and, it's really the grooming part I don't like. Shedding, I don't really care about. It's just after my Aussie passed, I swore no more really hairy dogs that need to be brushed a lot. I might get over that with time, but 60lbs of hairy Aussie = more brushing than I want to think about.

Update 3:

Dog dude, I'm not giving you a bad rating because you wouldn't have a toy in your situation. I'm giving you a bad rating because your answer isn't helpful to me at all. I'm not getting a dog for YOUR situation. I'm getting a dog for mine. And my dogs, even the big hairy ones, sleep indoors. Always.

Personally, I am a Rat Terrier fan.

I have one, and have fostered a couple, and they have all been very trainable dogs.

Mine is very athletic (his nickname is Circus Dog), but not hyper.

The min-pins I have known have either been giddy or hard headed, so I am not a fan of the breed.

Toy fox terriers are not common where I live, so I have not formed an opinion of them.

My rat terrier sheds very little, and seems to be teflon coated....he is always very clean without my having to bathe him. :o)

I would choose either the Rat Terrier or the Toy Fox Terrier, if you want low maintanince I would get a Wired haired toy fox terrier, They don't shed much at all. The Rat Terrier and the Tox Fox Terrier both shed a lot of hair. I love both breeds though, and I can't really tell the difference in personality between the two. My parents own three Rat Terriers and my Mother in Law owns 2 Fox Terriers. I wouldn't get a min pin only because they are more fragile dogs,(My neighbor owns two of them) they do have the energy but I have heard of them having hip problems when they get older so I wouldn't want to put more strain with the jumping.

    I wouldn't get a toy breed

    1. All my dogs must be friendly

    2. They must be able to spend a night outside without any worry

    3. They must be easy to train

    4. They must be big and strong and able to fight as I live in a rural un-tamed area in Ireland

(please don't give a bad rating I don't hate toy breeds I just wouldn't get one)
