Teacup Maltese-Pomeranian puppy?

I just bought a teacup Pomeranian Maltese mix puppy and I've been doing some reserch online and most of the comments say to get ready for a lot of health problems. I'm starting to get scared. Is that really true? I need some advise from someone that has a teacup...Please!!

I think you are finding out that you've been scammed - big time. There's no such thing as a "teacup" any breed, let alone a mix like yours. Hope you didn't pay a lot of money because only scuzzy back yard breeders would try to pass of an undersize runt mix as an actual breed, let alone "teacup", that term alone should have sent you running.

However, you now have the little pup, I'm sure he's adorable. Get him to a vet asap and perhaps he will thrive with good care and good food.

Best of luck to you, love the little pup and be good to him, it certainly is not his fault that some crappy con artist used him to scam money from you. Don't blame the little dog, and I truly hope that he is relatively healthy and will be a good companion pet.

Yes, their unnaturally small size can lead to health problems. Plus, they are poorly bred and their breeders do not have any genetic testing done before breeding. And one more thing: mutts are not healthier than well bred purebreds. When mixing breeds, there is even a chance of the offspring receiving hereditary problems from both sides.

Ethical breeders do not breed mutts. Ethical breeders do not breed "teacups".

Save up some money to store in case of emergencies.

I knew someone with a "teacup" Pomeranian. He actually turned to be rather large and died at 5.

Please do your research next time and if you still want to go the breeder route, contact a breed club for referral.

As cute as "Teacup" dogs come, they are not quite healthy. There is no such thing as a “Teacup” puppy. Teacups are poorly bred runts of the litter that don’t live that long. No reputable breeder would breed them they are scams. Yes, they are super cute but did you know that inside its like gunk of diseases? Backyard breeders (known as BYBs) breed them for a profit. If you see someone selling "teacups" please report the breeder.

Yes, it is true that these teacup dogs are almost always very sickly. I recommend you get pet health insurance ASAP. The reason these poor little dogs are so sickly is because of the way they are bred. Read about it here: http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm

I have several friends whom I have tried to talk out of getting tea cup puppies. The ones who didn't listen and got them anyway know what I was talking about now. Every one of the dog has some type of chronic health problem.

I have brain cells and know that any TEACUP pup is a poorly bred runt. You've been ripped off, contragulations on not doing any RESEARCH before buying a puppy.. Yes, do plan on spending A LOT on medical bills and do plan on losing the poorly bred runt at an early age.

You have a mixed breed runt of the litter there is no such thing as a tea cup dog anything and yes your dog will get a lot of health problems ,so make sure you have a bank account full of money for vet bills you will be needing it .
