My iPods not charging properly!?

This happen to my Ipod nano. I have an Ihome and it would charge. Here's what I did. My ipod was DEAD so I tryed to restart it but it didn't work. My Ihome would play a song but not charge it. It was so weir. Then I remembered my sister charges her Iphone from the wall so I went and plugged in my Ipod. AND IT CHARGED!

Sorry this is so long but what I am trying to say is try charging it some where else if its not working on you Ihome try a USB if the USB doesn't work try an Ihome. If you only have one way to charge it that try cleaning your Ipod where you plug it in with a damp Q-tip ir try cleaning the charger with a damp Q-tip GOOD LUCK

Try charging it in sleep mode when screen isnt lighten up.
