trying to install wireless mouse on laptop?

the left click key has been sticking on my laptop to the point of being unusable . I'm trying to install a wireless mouse so I can use the laptop , seemed like the best option vs taking to a shop to have the clicker replaced .

I don't get any message saying that the wireless has been detected when I plug the USB in .

and when I go to my computer and control panel not seeing it as installed software / hardware

Update:

I just tryed installing it in the laptop that I'm useing to right now ( not the messed up one ) and after close to an hour figured it out

On my wireless mouse there was a small slide on the bottom of it. I was instructed to remove it and insert it into one of the small ports on the side of the computer. I did that but it did not work. the sales person said to push a very small button that was on top of the slide and to also push a small button that was on the bottom of the wireless mouse. I did that and there was a loud explosion (KIDDING) there was a small ping sound and the mouse started to work. when closing up, you need to remove the small slide from the port and repl;ace into the bottom of the mouse. It took me several trys before I got is right and that was because I called my teen age son in and he helped me.

    good luck

Right click on my computer and hit properties. Head to device manager, if you see a yellow examination mark, it means you have an error or needed a driver for it.

Check if you need to install it.
