How do i Bunny Proof a Balcony?

We live in an Apartment on the 8th floor. I would like to take the bunny out into the balcony without worrying about her going through the bars and falling off. At the moment she has her own room in the supply room. but we occasionally let her roam around the living room and my room.

Would it be best to get her a Cage for now? how much do rabbit cages typically cost? She's a 1 year old Netherlands Dwarf Rabbit. We've had her since February.

I have 2 guinea pigs, and their cages together cost somewhere close to $100 give or take a little. But, a rabbit is a little bigger so I'd say buy a cage or those kinds of baby proof gates with small holes so she cant squeeze through it, obviously, and keep her contained. Hope this helped:)

Try taking some sheet metal and putting it around the base of the balcony about a foot high.
