What is the difference between the gold check cards with Wells Fargo Bank and the platinum check cards?

I'm specifically asking about the debit/check cards and NOT a credit card. I understand the difference when it comes to credit cards but can't find anything regarding the debit/check cards. My husband & I have both been with Wells Fargo (a joint account) for a few years now and have always had the gold Visa cards (or Mastercard when we first began). Our cards both expire this year. He just received his new, updated card and it's platinum instead of gold. I've seen other people with platinum cards in the past and was just wondering what the difference was other than the color. Wells Fargo didn't send any additional info other than the usual "here's your new card. go activate it now"

Gold was the fad a couple of years ago.

    Now people want platinum.

Next will be clear cards with just the bank logo in color.

Just the color changes since "some" customers think one color is more prestigious than another.

It depends on which bank you're getting the card from but here in my country the main differences are; 1) The Platinium CC has a higher limit then of the Gold CC 2) If the card gives you bonus points after each usage, Platinium give more points then the gold. Thats the only two benefits I see. The contrubutor above me says gold is better...But thats not the way it goes here in Turkey..I don't know how it is where you live but Platinium is rated higher then the gold...just to let you know..
