Railroads really dont want the general public knowing that much about their operations.

There are some rail fain sites that help thier members track trains and many people have scanners and can listen in on railraod radio traffic but you are not likely to find a site that will give you detail real time information.

Go to yahoo groups for atcs monitor. This shows dispatchers' screens for many main line routes around the country. Buy a scanner and go online to look up radio frequencies used by railroads in your area, program them in your scanner, and you can hear local conversations between crews and dispatchers, defect detectors nearby, etc. Go to any number of railfan based websites to learn about local rail lines such as railroadforums , railpictures, etc.
