would you personally rather read a book written by someone your own age, or by someone older?
i was just wondering if people would like to read books written by people their own age, especially if they are teens, or by people that aren't.

I don't ever really care what the age of the author is, so long as the book is something I will enjoy. I've read a story to my little sister written by a six year old and I thought it was adorable, and I've read a book written by an 70 year old and thought it was amazing. In my opinion the age of an author doesn't really matter, however it does sometimes depend on the storyline itself. For example, if a twenty year old wrote a book about the life and times of an 80 year old, it could still be good but it would have had a nicer feel to it if it was written by an 80 year old.

I think it's not the age of the author, it's the quality of the writing. I generally read works from people older than me, mainly because I'm fairly young and most published authors are older than myself. However, I enjoy their articulate style of writing, and the way they have a better grasp of life, having lived through the stage I'm in. I feel that, with practice, GENERALLY, older writers are more eloquent. I haven't met many young writers with a sophisticated writing style to compare to authors such as Jane Austen, or modern works like Nicholas Sparks.

I'm a teen, and as an aspiring author myself, I love to see work from people my age. However, I've read amazing stories from people who are way older than me. So basically, if you can write well, I'll read what you have to write.

I'm a teenager. I would rather read a book by someone my age because I could relate to it or see how other teenagers live thier lives and other oppertunities activities and experiences are going on with people like me

properly, being 17 would not count number in any respect. you are able to be a stable author with stable spelling and grammar to get revealed. then you definately might desire to place in writing a stable e book, edit, edit lower back, and locate an agent. Be waiting for various rejections. Oh, and an invaluable tip, the "i"s on your writing might desire to be capitalized, alongside with the beginning up of sentences. No offense, yet that's rather plenty 1st grade stuff, in case you do no longer understand that stable success.

I love 19th century and early 20th century so they'd have to be dead writers.
The only living writers of literature that I love that are younger than I am (only slightlly) are Neil Gaiman and Chuck Palahniuk.
Jane Austen isn't writing any more novels. Does anyone know why?
