If God doesn't send Atheists to Hell?

If Atheists send themselves to Hell as is sometimes claimed, would it not be ethical for God to send rescue missions into Hell to rescue all those that have gone there unnecessaril?. If each of us are special, how can God not be equally tormented knowing that there are souls being tortured?

Why does the bible not mention any of these Black Ops into Hell?

Update:

I think I should really add that I'm Atheist. I don't believe in any Gods and I certainly do not believe in the Bible. Now all the Theists are going to think I'm just angry at God;)

According to the christian bible the only crime punishable by an eternity in hell is refusing to believe in christianity's false gods. I would suggest you take the time to read their bible. That is the only way you will ever come to understand what a sick, sadistic, psychotic b*stard their main god really is.

There was a mission to rescue souls from hell, when Jesus died on the cross and spoke to the imprisoned souls. God doesn't wish for any to go to hell, but he loves us too much to force his will on us. Which is why his greatest gift to mankind was free will. So he suffers knowing the children he placed over all creation are suffering. Jesus dying for us was our second chance. As most Atheist know the bible is divided into the old and new testaments. In the old we lived by law, in the new we live by love. We make the choice to go to heaven or hell through our actions and inaction. If we love and honor him and his word, we have made the choice to go to heaven, if not you built your own pyre to burn on. I am a Christian by choice and faith, not brain control and manipulation of fear. I'm also a huge science fan, I believe the big bang theory is very plausible, but I'm not sure. I missed it by a few billion years give or take. I don't think you're angry at God, why be angry with someone you don't think exists? I do want to thank you though, most Atheist on here outright attack Christians and Christianity in general.

It does mention it, I guess you just didn't read that part.

    John 5:25

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

    1 Peter 3

18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

    19By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah,,,

    1 Peter 4

6For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

    1 Corinthians 15:29

29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

(the idea of a vicarious substitution, such as a lamb offering for sin, Jesus suffering on behalf of mankind's sins - just for the unjust - is similar to the vicarious offering of the living being baptized on the behalf of the dead). The point Paul was making is there would be no point to this if the dead were not going to be resurrected, but that they will be was his point, so baptism on their behalf did have a purpose.

There isn't such a thing as Hell in relation to Heaven which God I assume created. But there is no living proof of God's existence and by inference, there is no God.

But when we talk about Hell, then I imagine human mental hell being like a heroin addict going through cold turkey.

As for Heaven, well, I'll leave that to your imagination.

I don't quite understand why people like "someone who cares" answer these questions by copying and pasting bits out of the bible. It requires no real thought on their part and we can all read the bible if we wish but since we have no idea who wrote a lot of this stuff and for what reason they are really irrelevant to the discussion

If God exists, He wouldn't send atheists to Hell purely for being atheists, because He would say "It doesn't matter if you don't believe in Me - I believe in you." Isn't that what the whole doctrine of God is all about?

    *EDIT*

Blimey, that's the most thumbs down I have ever received! Looks like I have managed to offend both the believers AND the non-believers...

God sends noone to hell. People go to hell because they refuse to accept the propitiation that is Christ. God is above your feeble rambling.

The only way you can go to hell is if you've physically done something so evil to harm a group or an individual person. If you have lived a very good life without harming anyone and making a positive impact to others then you will not go to hell.

Who told you atheists will be send to hell? No neither all atheists will go to hell nor all believers will go to heaven. God will judge you by your actions by your thoughts, speech and physical action and accordingly you will be punished.

I think i remember being told by a Mormon that when you die you go to a beach walk with Jesus and talk with him till you learn everything and if you still reject it you go to hell otherwise you go to heaven. *shrugs* Thats just Mormons though. Jews hell is temporary so you get out of hell. Christian hell i dont know i dont remember im too tired to care.
