Who is the biggest landowner in The Islamic Republic of Iran?

In the 1970s the then Pahlavi government appropriated large tracts of land from dissident Iranian clerics who had in their turn obtained land by widespread misuse of religious influence, by bribery, embezzlement , and other less savoury forms of corruption.

In Iranian eyes the ownership of land is the only worthwhile indication of wealth.

If I were to guess on the basis of their clerical-reactionary fake "anti-capitalist" ideology, I would venture to say that the biggest owner of land in Iran is probably one of the mullahs, or perhaps some front group for the Revolutionary Guard, or even a consortium of "approved" foreign investors (who pay off the mullahs).

I wouldn't even be surprised if there were Europeans, Americans, or even Israelis, involved somehow.

    Just a guess, though.

Don't know, but they sure don't like dogs. Wish more governments had this attitude.
