I have a 15" speaker cabinet, but I don't know the wattage.?
and the speaker has nothing written on it. The placard says Gollehon 280. How do I test it for the wattage?

The only way to test a speaker's power handling capability (watts) is to run it into destruction. It's like crash testing a car. That's what wattage ratings are on speakers. They have nothing to do with how loud it will play or the quality of the sound. Wattage ratings on speakers are widely misunderstood. However I read a quote from a guy who used a pair of these speakers with an SVT head which puts out a conservatively rated 350 watts of brute tube power so should imagine that a Gollehon 280 will hold at least 150 watts. Don't blame me if you blow it out though.
