Do you have any helpful tips for Call of Duty Black Ops online? (Continued)?

I asked this question about a month ago..Maybe three weeks ago. Well, this is just a continuation. Anyways, back then, I was just starting out. The first time I played Call of Duty online. So I asked for some tips, and..I got a lot of help. Back then, I was a level 13..

Now, I am a level 31, moving up to level 32 (Just a couple more games). As a primary weapon, I use the Steyr Aug (I'm good at the assault rifles. My favorite class) with a reflex sight. My secondary weapon is duel pythons, which I use to kill those at close range. Not sure about perks. I don't pay attention to them that much, because they don't really mean anything to me in combat. At the end of matches, I end up being number two, or three on the list..I was going to get number one. It was only 5 seconds from the game ending, and the douche calls in a napalm strike.

The tips I want now are killstreaks. See, the most kills I got were 29, but I died alot. The most I got for a killstreak was 7 kills which allowed me to call in a support helicopter. That was only ONCE.

I need help on my tactics. I see people get 30 kills, but only 5 deaths (Most of them are bloody campers, but still...)

I hate those damn campers. I f*cking hate them. They're the ones that piss me off, and make me wanna napalm strike the area repeatedly. How do they do that? I can't do that..I don't have the patience to just sit there and wait for my enemies. Albeit, the reason why I get killed so much is..Pretty much because I just run out there in the open like a savage warrior and shoot whatever moves(Probably, anyways). I'm pretty anxious to shoot people when it comes to playing online...

I also sprint repeatedly..I get killed the most in Team Deathmatch. My friends see an enemy, and they fire. The enemies in cover. So, I just sprint to the enemy, not knowing there are three more, and so I die.

So, I could still use some advice.

Update:

I have the assault rifle class (My primary one)

The shotgun class (Spas 12 is my favorite in real life too, so I chose it)

The SMG class (The Uzi)

I use the assault rifles mainly because of range and accuracy. I care more about that then damage.

I'm considering purchasing a light machine gun..But those aren't really ranged weapons, and they have a tendency of spraying all over the place at long range.

Update 2:

Also, when should you knife people? When someones running at me, I get anxious and fire bullets like crazy without aiming, and they end up knifing me.

Update 3:

Is it pretty normal to die all the time? Because maybe I'm being too hard on myself?

Everytime I die, I think "If I was in the actual military, I would f*cking get my brains blown out"

Tip #1: Depending on what class you are using, you have to adapt to that specific play style. (i.e. Shotguns closequarters)

Tip #2: Never sprint around corners if there is even the slightest chance there is an enemy around that area. You always want to be ready to react faster without being distracted by sprinting as well as being able to aim down sights while walking is much faster.

Tip #3: Before you even go to find a match online, go to combat training. Set it to Free For All on Nuketown and change time to Unlimited and score to 1500. Also set the number of enemies to around 6-8. Do 1-3 matches to get yourself warmed up, for me and a lot of CoD gamers out there, this is almost essential for having good reactions online.

Tip #4: Think. When you actually begin to think and strategize your gameplay you become less likely to die and more likely to pick up kills hence earning your killstreak rewards.

Tip #5: Always move around. After killing someone or in some cases.. Completely embarrassing them, most of the time it's best to get the hell out of there. However if you can lure them back and have the advantage while doing it, I say go for it. Also in the reverse situation, NEVER GO BACK. They're will be mostly likely waiting for if they're smart - trust me - you just want to forget and move on.

Tip #6: Since you like to play most Team Deathmatch modes I will give you an invaluable tip if you're playing by yourself (not with a party) STAY AWAY FROM YOUR TEAM MATES. I can't list how many situations there will or have been where my team mates (non-party) have just completely screwed me over by being complete idiots. Just stay away from them as much as possible unless your going for an objective. Of course, if you have trusted party members as your team mates you don't have to be so cautious.

Tip #7: Watch youtube commentaries of Black Ops videos from these channels on youtube: Shaun0728, SeaNanners, xJawz, ONS1AUGH7 and XboxAhoy. These people have literally given me every single tip I could think for Black Ops, if you watch and listen to them enough they will explain and at the same time show you what to do. When you analyse their gameplay your brain can take it in and memorize it and therefore putting it in to use in future and alike situations.

For some of the channels you may have to dig into their uploads to find the Black Ops games.

Tip #8: Know, when to back out of a situation. When the enemy has the advantage, do not engage with them. You will 9 time out of 10 get owned so just back away and flank or just run.

Tip #9: Tactical or Default? Knowing which one suits you best, your immediate choice will probably be Default but listen to what I have to say. For the tactical layout, when you get kinda serious about Call of Duty. You want to have every advantage possible, tactical is the way to go. What the tactical button layout does is it switches the knife button with the crouch button, why? So when some dude pops out of nowhere and your stuck in a sticky situation. You hold down the crouch button (previously the knife button) while being able to fire and aim properly. This confuses your oponent and gives you the edge you couldn't have if you had your crouch button on your knife button. However if you feel the change is too much for right now and you prefer to have default it's okay.

Tip #10: Sensitivity. This is a big thing in online gaming, having fast reactions is key. Nobody likes fair fights. Right now your probably on the default sensitivity of 2, which is relatively low by my standards. Turning up your sensitivity decreases your reaction time but lowers your accuracy if you're not use to the controls. What I suggest is turning up your sensitivity 1 by each month, it allows you to adapt slowly and comfortably (i.e. 3 for this month, 4 for the next...) and then stop where you feel is the best fit. I personally stopped at 5 since I thought it was the best suit for me. Another tip, I'm not trying to advertise or anything but I have to say it. Get FPS Freeks. They're are freakin amazing, if you turn up your sensitivity these things can really help your accuracy and I can't even play without them anymore. If you wanna know what they are, they're like little mods for your thumbsticks that you just attach on to make them higher. They cost like 10 bucks and you can get different version of them but it's soooo worth it. You don't have to get them, it's just a recommendation.

K, I hope tips have helped you or will help you for getting better at Call of Duty. Trust me, once you get the hang of this game it becomes pretty easy.

    Hope it helps,

    X

The Aug and Famas has a fast fire rate, making long range attacks a little bit more difficult to control than AR's like the galil or commando. However, that makes the AUG and Famas useful in close combat and in the Search and Destroy, I was the last person left on my time against 5 opponents and killed them all with a famas in close combat. My point is, I don't recommend you using a dual python with your Aug. Also, dual pythons are difficult to control with the incredibly high recoil but if you've got the hang of it, then by all means continue to use it.

The type of gun should depend on the size of the map and how well you're playing. For example, if it's a smaller map like Havana with a lot of close combat encounters, go with a SMG. I use a MP5K with RDS and Rapid Fire.I do not recommend the Uzi. If you're on medium size map like Grid or Firing Range, go with either a SMG or AR. If you're on a large map like Array, use a AR. I use the Galil with Suppressor. When I'm rushing and doing well, I'll use guns without a suppressor. When I'm doing bad, I choose a suppressor. When there's a spy plane, I choose a class with ghost.

I also play Objective game modes and never team death match. What i've noticed is that there are far less campers and noobs in Objective modes. I also like having a direction to go, and to be able to predict where the enemies are coming from.

I recommend you changing your kill streaks and not using Helicopter if you've only gotten it once. Set the kill streaks to realistic expectations. For example, the Sentry Gun can be deadly if you know how to use it correctly. I remember when it killed 12 enemies, and a helicopter could never do that because it'll get shot down pretty quickly.

    My favorite perks are:

Tier 1: Ghost Pro - I hate being attacked by the enemy off guard and not being seen by gunships and helicopters is great. It gives you the opportunity to shoot them down and help your team win! Also when a spy plane is up, the enemy is usually off guard following the blimps on the radar.

Tier 2: Sleight of Hand - Faster Reload and ADS is obviously going to help you out in so many situations. However, if you need to use two attachments, then War Lords is the only way to go.

Tier 3: Tactical Mask Pro - It's really useful, especially not being blinded by the flash grenades. This is my favorite perk but it takes time to get it. So when you prestige and start at level 1 again, I recommend you try and get this perk.

Also, don't run around in the open like you say you do. I do that too sometimes because sometimes when I die, I let my frustrations cloud my judgement, and half the time I do end up getting killed. Anyway, if you're on the PS3 and want to play some multiplayer send me an email.

I am a level 50 and I liked to use the commando (assault rifle), but a friend recently introduced me to the ak74u with rapid fire and I noticed that I got a lot better k/d ratio (like this 20 something for 5 you were saying about). You've got to know the maps well, know where people will spawn, where people are likely to camp.

I don't recommend camping, noobish thing to do and I hate it to. But I would recommend you try for a few games not using sprint and just take your time a little more. The ak74u doesn't have great range, especially with rapid fire, but in smaller maps, you'll mostly come across enemies in short distance anyway and it's great for that. You mentioned about sprinting and 'not noticing' lots of enemies. I used to do same thing on mw2, you can get a few quick kills that way, but it's risky for killstreaks. Don't camp, but don't sprint, take your time. Only move when you know it's safe and try to avoid just walking into open areas.

Maybe if you want to know some good combos, wait until the final kill cam and see what gun they use and maybe try them out.

The panicking thing may be because you are moving so fast. Imagine this situation, you are coming out of a building through a doorway and the enemy is intending to come through the door the opposite way, as soon as you see them (and probably get shocked), press it. If you miss, probably keep your distance so they can't knife you back and start shooting, they may not have even noticed you.

Dying all the time? Depends. Sometimes you get spawned in awful places, I spawned into gunfire once, appeared behind a team mate who was being shot. And sometimes campers use chopper gunners constantly etc.

Maybe the best way of going about it is to not concentrate on kills so much, but lack of deaths.

Don't risk your life just to get a kill, if you wait or take your time, they may come to you and you can get some easy kills.

One last hint, for campers. If they are really annoying you, or you can see they are getting a massive killstreak, go round the back so you can knife them, they'll most likely be crouching behind cover or something. If you sneak up behind them, easy kill.

    Good luck!

Do you have ps3 or xbox?

ok well first off i'd recommend a couple of things if you use assault:

Galil and Famas are the top of their class, Famas being slightly ahead of Galil.

For a good surviving setup here is what I would go with if I was you:

Famas/Galil with extended mags - from what i've read above it seems that accuracy may not exactly be your "fortay" and you have some tendencies to spray. the extended mags will compensate for this and allow for some missing without needing to reload.

secondary - In a way it's irrelevant what your secondary is as long as you use your primary weapon well. However I personally go with the pythons also with dual equipment on.

    Perk Setup:

Scavanger - especially in pro this perk is definitely a handy one. It will allow someone such as your self to be able to stick with a weapon that they're used to and not have to constantly pick up new weapons. If you like playing maps like Nuke Town 24/7 i'd switch this out for flack jacket.

Sleight of hand -> MUST <- This perk will save your behind more than you can count, works like a charm with extended mags and gives you the chance to reload in combat and still survive. I highly do not recommend this but if you are having real trouble hitting people, you can switch this out to steady aim.

Hacker - this perk is probably the least important of the lot but for a roamer (someone of your playing style) this perk will keep you alive. When this perk becomes pro you can have some real fun sabotaging care packages.

    Equipment:

Claymores - these puppys can earn you some easy kills and would suit you if you don't like to camp, however if you do stay in the same "general area" i'd recommend motion sensor.

    Tactical grenade:

Stuns - when you go in like rambo, chuck a couple of these down and you may have a chance of making it out alive.

    Kill Streaks:

from what information you've given, here is what i recommend:

3 - spy plane/RC car: If you want some fun go RC car, If you want to play tactically and better your chances of survival for you and your team go spy plane, just be careful of people using the ghost perk, can be very misleading.

5 - Napalm strike: This is an all round good kill streak that can be used tactically and used just for kills depending on how you throw it down.

6/7 - Mortar team/Valkyrie Rockets: these 2 will probably not rack up as many kills as the Napalm but can both be used tactically, I recommend these 2 over the attack helicopter because the helicopter usually doesn't aquire many kills at all, and the sentry gun because that needs to be called in from the sky and is not as good as mortar ( Valkyrie rockets need to be dropped in from the sky too)

    Knifing:

knifers, knifers, knifers, what can you do? In all honesty, very little but the best things to do is at long to medium range - shoot them, at short range knife them back.

When using the knife yourself you want to get people when they're either not looking at you or reloading, unless you have setup a knifing class i do not recommend charging with just a knife at someone packing a fully loaded weapon.

A good thing to remember when knifing is that your ping makes a huge difference. If you want to do any proper knifing i wouldn't recommend it if your ping was over 150/200.

Thats all i got, hope it helps.

well it all depends on what suits you best but if i had to say the gaili is a awesome gun its a accurate assualt rifle that had decent fire power and rate of fire it also comes with more ammo than any other assualt rifle that you can get combine that with the slight of hand pro perk i am nearly unstopable as for smgs i would sugesst the classifyed one or the ak74u there both great guns perks with any assualt rife or smg should have slight of hand pro as the extra fast ads makes for quick clean kills more over i also suggest that you use hardline pro cuz then you can change care pakages to any random one dont try to change and thing thats a kill streak thats higher than 4 or a grim reaper or death machine

for the third perk i love second chance pro cuz you get an extra chance to kill the guy killing you and you can get picked up next for ghost classes dont put slight of hand on it if your sneaking you wont need to have fast aiming so i suggest warlord so u can have a suppresser and a reflex, sot sight or acog oh and i also suggest not sprinting around corners and stuff like that it takes longer to aim or shoot or knife and this has save me so many times try just looking at your radar more often as even if your opponent has a suppresser you can still see your allys blip on the radar go away when he dies anuther trick is to not run around in the open "more advice" dont put slight of hand or warlord or scout perks on your sniper class put steady aim on it so you can hip fire if neesary and you can quick scope ppl better if you have any more questions my xbox live tag is "mr melancholy" send me a message that says 1141 or some thing like that ill know

I'm a 4th Prestige. I recommend that you use guns with silencers. If you play barebones or hardcore dont really use it. Use perks like Ghost, Slight of Hand and Hacker. I am Positive on my Combat Record. Slight of hand is good if you need to reload fast and kill someone fast. Ghost is good also to stay out of sight of Spy Planes. Plus when you get Ghost Pro you can't be detected by helicopters.

With hacker Pro you can hack enemy equipment. Slight of Hand helps you aim faster. You should at least get 5 or 6 kills before you die
