2004 F-150 oil gauge?

I have a 2004 ford f150 and Two days ago I went to work and I sat in the car idling for a bit then i heard a "Bing" I looked down and it says check gauges, So I looked at all the gauges and here so happened to be the oil gauge not working, So I turn the truck off checked the oil, oil is fine then turned the track back on praying it would work fine, It turned on, I sat and Idled for a bit and It didn't show any signs of problems, drove home then school still nothing, any Idea what could it be?

    your question is a bit unclear, is the guage not working? you need to start with the sending unit on the block, and test it, you will likely need a shop, unless you have a shop repair manual handy, its either the gauge, the wire or the sending unit screwed into the side of the block

    oil sending unit is not good, seen many sticking before, located near oil filter
