People need to stop overrating and overhyping Derrick Rose...he is very good, but...?

This happens in sports all the time now. When somebody says something about a guy nobody else wants to say the same thing so they always go a little further. It's like when CP3 was having his MVP caliber season a couple of years ago and in the beginning people were saying he could be eventually surpass Isiah Thomas as the best 6 foot tall player ever and then by the end of the season some people were saying that he had already surpassed him even though Thomas won 2 championships and was in the hall of fame.

It's okay to give a guy some hype but let's stop putting young players ahead of legends based on one season or even a couple of seasons. If you did the same thing that people are doing with Rose to Brandon Roy, Grant Hill, Shawn Marion or many other players it would look really silly now when you consider their entire careers.

No one said Rose was the best player ever or even a legend, but he does deserve the MVP this year. He should have received the MIP(most improved player) award as well. Certainly Kevin Love was deserving as well, but all of what Kevin Love did didn't bring about wins for his team unlike Rose. Can you say +21 in win column from last year to this year? Have you seen anyone lock him down? If he has a bad shooting night like players do every now and then, he has shown he can get to the basket any time he wants even if the defense is set to keep him out of the lane. No one can stay in front of him. Then he makes 80-90% of his free throws unlike LeBron. If he is making his jumper, what are you going to do then? He plays defense as well. The best thing about it is he is only 22 years old. Isn't that scary?

BTW, you coach against Derrick Rose and have him torch your team's playoff dreams and see if you aren't as complimentary as the Pacers' coach of his abilities.

the last few months, Rose has been shooting 90% from the free throw line.....how can you say he doesnt have Iverson quickness?? no one can guard Rose off the dribble in this league.....also, have you seen rose jump over an entire team before? cuz it happens every game so why cant his athleticism be compared to MJ?.....hes not comparing his defense or jump shot to MJ....

Where were the Bulls a couple seasons ago? Worst team in the league. He came in and brought them to the #1 seed. He is a basketball god.

I agree. I hate it when people compare some of today's player to MJ. Specially when they compare Kobe to MJ. That is BS!

He is good, in fact he is great, i just hate people that say he is like the best ever and he gunna be like MJ etc..
