Native French speakers: does your language seem beautiful to you?

At least here in America, some people (especially women) seem to find French to be a romantic and beautiful language.

Do people still think that way when they are immersed in the language all of the time? Or do other foreign languages seem more appealing and intriguing to you?

    Not really.

It's difficult to judge your native tongue.

I know that indeed english-speaking people reportedly find French to be a romantic and beautiful but as a native speaker of French, I don't find that my language is particularly beautiful, it's just the language I happen to have learnt as child. I even think that French is quite rigid in comparison to Germanic languages as Dutch or English. A language that I find really appealing is for instance (modern) Greek, I like hearing this language!

Same here. I'm French and I don't find the language particularly “romantic” or “beautiful”. I guess it's just a matter of point of view. Spanish and Italian sound much more romantic to me. Maybe French as well, when the person speaking it has a strong foreign accent :)

I grew up in Québec speaking both French and English. Although I personally don't really have a preference for one over the other, I do think that the French sounds more pleasing/easy on the ears than English. But that's just me. I do know, however, that when I speak French here in Ontario many people (especially girls) think it's cute and that it sounds nicer than English.

Hell no. No necesita. I hate French and I hate Spanish. I like German better. So I use it besides French and Spanish. Bleh!
