9 lb Prime Rib at 220 - How long?

I have cooked smaller roasts using Alton Brown's technique of low-and-slow for several hours, then remove, rest then back in for 20 minutes to create a crust.

We found a 9 lib Roast (with bones) that I put in a 220 degree oven at 11. I want to pull it at about 130 degrees to let it rest while oven heats on high.

Any idea on how long it will be? I have a chicken and corn to have ready about the same time.

At 300 degrees you would cook it for 20-30 minutes per pound. That would be approximately 4 1/2 hours. At 220 degrees, my guess would be 5 1/2 hours. If you're taking it out of the oven to rest, it won't matter much if it rests longer than you planned. It will matter if you over cook the roast. Err on the side of under-cooking it. You can always leave it in the oven at the higher temperature for a bit longer.Your roast will continue to cook during the resting periods, both at the lower and the higher heat, but I think you know that.
