How quickly does Adderall dependence develop with ADHDPI?

I was diagnosed with ADHDPI in first grade, and took ritalin for three years. I got off of it because I had become addicted on it and went through withdrawal the summer after fourth grade. I developed coping mechanisms, but I am starting to not be able to cope with everything now that I am in college.

What I would like is information on how quickly adderall dependence develops in patients who are taking it to deal with actual ADHD and/or how frequently it has to be taken for dependence to develop; all I can find online are discussions about people who took it without having actual ADHD.

I want some way to relieve my ADHDPI symptoms, but I don't want to go through what I went through with Ritalin again.
