What's your coming out experience?

My experience was pretty much as good as I could have hoped for. I have a pretty liberal family over all, but I also have an identical twin sister who was never really accepting of the LGBT community. As most people know, the bond between two identical twins is unlike anything else, so i was beyond terrified that she wouldnt accept me. My relationship with my twin was more important to me than anything else. I first came out to one of my close friends who has many other gay friends and goes to one of the gayest colleges here in the northeast and she accepted me with open arms. She convinced me that my sister would come around eventually so I went to my twin the next day and told her I had to tell her sometihng. She looked at me and just said, "What? Are you secretly a lesbian or something?.." And I laughed because I knew that she always knew. We talked about it for a while and she ended up being pretty OK with it. Our relationship is that same, if not better now than it was. After that, she helped me come out to my parents, who also took it well since my mother has many lesbian friends. I told the rest of my close friends when we were eating lunch at our favorite local sandwich place. I told them I had to tell them something and they thought I was going to tell them I was moving. I just came out and said "Im gay." and they were like "oh, thats it? thats totally cool." I was lucky I guess in that I live in an accepting area with am surrounded with many loving and accepting people!! :)
