What is a nice town to live in?
I want to move to the UK in a couple years, I live in America. I want to live in England in a quaint small town, everyone-knows-everyone type but big enough to have stores, churches, and schools nearby, I want to live near the beach where the weather is moderate (as I do here), In a place where the cost of living isn't very high, I intend on studying in the southwest maybe Bristol or Cornwall... Any suggestions on towns that match that criteria? Any village/town you think of list it please...

Not asking for much are you? Can tell you have not got a clue what our country is really like. Been watching too many Midsomer Murders and Miss Marple???!!! Millions of us live in the real world, and that sure ain't no picture postcard, Hollywood inspired vision of what the UK is in 2011, to suit some naive Americans!

I'd suggest Mullion, Cornwall. It's on the Lizard and has a school, church, right next to the sea. (There's mullion cove near-by) Anyways, take a look please:') Cornwall is the nicest county in England if you ask me... And I don't even live there, I'm here for my summers and Christmases:') The best icecream in the world is there aswell... ROSKILLYS! -near St Keverne (also on the lizard) -Oh and your not far from bigger towns, Like Helston and Falmouth etc.
I also recommend Coverack, on the Lizard. It has a school, church, village shops. (Ones that sell food, gifts etc) -They have there own roskillies shop and is on the coast. (This is where I stay)

Edinburgh - the suited one for me in my view. Amazingly alluring city, fantastically cultured. sometimes somewhat snobby. no longer lots anti-English sentiment till you start to techniques-set the backside of the Royal Mile and the SNP-ruled Scottish Parliament. Glasgow - the 2d suited for me. no longer very alluring in any respect, yet purely as lots custom as Edinburgh, with a brilliant music scene. you could probable ought to challenge into the council estates to locate overtly-expressed anti-English sentiment. Dundee - the third suited for me and my living house city. extremely alluring, with advantageous perspectives around the River Tay. a solid arts centre, some cinemas and a suited type repertory theatre. Very much less costly pondering the size of the city. super region for exploring the Highlands on day-journeys. It has a extensive pupil-to-locals ratio and so which you will no longer bump into lots anti-English sentiment (even with the reality that interior of sight Perth does have a recognition for some anti-English racism). Aberdeen - no no no no no! Too chilly and too snobby. and that i've got not relatively spent sufficient time in Inverness to remark. wish that facilitates!

You will be fine in any seaside town like Whitby or Filey. They would be what I imagine you are looking for. Pleasant and quaint and not too big or cosmopolitan like some of the larger towns.
