Is the Otterbox Defender case worth it?

its definitely worth buying the otterbox. when i went to the apple store to get my iphone i asked the representative if i needed the case and if i did i wanted the best one. he recommended the otterbox. i asked him how it works. he got the case put his phone in it then through it across the store. when we went to check the phone out no damage had happened and it was working like new. because it costs so much money you can log onto eBay and you will find the otterbox for a much cheaper price. the waterproof ability is a myth unless you buy a special case for that however it protects the phone even from a car driving over it. if installed correctly the otterbox is not that bulky and worth the compromise

I had an OtterBox defender for my old iPod and it worked great i dropped it multiple times and nothing happened to the iPod. But when I got an iPhone 4S I decided to go with the OtterBox commuter. It's one step down from the defender but I personally think it works just as we'll. I've dropped my phone with the commuter and had no problems. It's about 20$ cheaper and the only differences really are that there is no built in screen protecter. If you're planning on upgrading soon I would recommend the OtterBox commuter since it does practically the same thing for 20$ less. :)

it is really good at protecting your phone but also could be bulky and make your phone look really big. also, the waterproofing is a myth. if you are really worried about your phone breaking, it is worth the money. i got mine for about $45
