    History books I own:

-Ballet in Western Culture by Carol Lee

Good book with a ton of information on how dancing evolved however I bought for about $40.

    -Apollo's Angels by Jennifer Homans

I haven't read yet but my friends love it a lot.

    Others Story ballet books:

    -Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild

Although it's a children's book, it's a great classic story of 3 orphan girls. The entire book isn't based on all ballet though.

-A Company Of Swans by Eva Ibbotson

I'm not sure, haven't read yet but judging the cover, it looks very interesting.

-I also have the Kansas City Ballet informational book by Wyatt Townley

It has a lot of pictures of the company members of Kansas City Ballet. And I love reading the history of their school!

    Books I found on google:

This website has tons of books to buy very cheap!

List of very good adult and teen books on ballet.

    Good luck!

@fashionballerina A Company of Swans is a good book. Its a historical romance novel. It does deal with ballet and making dreams come true and doing the impossible! I highly recommend that you read it! Also the Perfect Pointe Book had a bunch of things to do to strengthen your body to get ready for pointe! http://www.theperfectpointebook.com/

All the books recommended by fashionballerina are great. I also recommend I Was a Dancer by Jacques D'Amboise (its a memoir about his training with Balanchine, ballet, and his life as a dancer- very good!!)
