How can you take President Obama seriously?

I sure don't take him seriously! The only leg that his supporters have to stand on is that they're still blaming our problems on the last administration rather than admitting this guy wasn't prepared for office. Being able to read a speech off of notecards doesn't make him a good leader.

Just for the record, I am a Republican, and I really never doubted that he possessed a valid US birth certificate. This whole media circus was just Donald Trump (who has spent most of his life as a Democrat) drumming up publicity for himself and dragging the Republicans through the mud with him.

He has had two and a half years. In that much time the FBI, CIA and the US mint has the best forgery

talent in the world.

In two and a half years is more than enough time to get the forgery right.

He should have made the original Birth certificate public at that time.

I still do not believe he is a legitimate president of the USA.

To much time went by.

Nothing will change my mind.

How can I take him seriously? He's achieved more in the past two years than almost any president in history.

The fair pay act for women, expanding children’s health insurance, new hate crimes legislation (that they said could not be done), tobacco regulation, credit card reform, student loan reform, the stimulus — which in addition to helping pull this country back from the brink of a great depression, was also the largest tax cut ever, the largest investment in clean energy ever, the largest investment in education in our country ever. He expanded loan programs for small businesses. He banned lobbyist gifts to executive employees. He reversed restrictions on stem cell research.

He forced Chrysler and GM into bankruptcy, successfully turning them around within a year and turning them back into profit-making businesses that are now hiring again. He unveiled the "Cash for Clunkers" program, a "socialist" giveaway blasted by the right that reanimated the corpse of our car industry, leading to the billion-dollar profit announced by Ford later that year. Health care reform. Also, Wall Street reform, the improvements to the new G.I. Bill, the most expansive food SAFETY BILL SINCE THE 1930s. And he signed a repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” (EVERY single one of these things fought against tooth and nail by the Republican party.) This is about 85% of his promised agenda accomplished...just in the first two years.

Obama may be a great legislative president, but unfortunately, he is a piss-poor Salesman in Chief. It's not that he hasn't "been to work", he just is not interested in victory laps, and publicly taking credit for his accomplishments. He needs to change that.

Now why don't you tell us why we should take YOU right-wingers seriously? Let's take a look at YOUR party's and YOUR last leader's accomplishments:

Bush got us into two wars based on lies and misinformation that has cost us approx a billion dollars a week for the past ten years and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. He took our economy from a record surplus and turned it into a record deficit. He effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury. He SHATTERED the record for the largest annual deficit in history. He set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period. He set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. He set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. In his first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continued throughout his entire Presidency. He is the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. He presided over the biggest energy crisis in history, refusing intervention when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed. He broke more international treaties than any U.S. President in history. He is the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission! He withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law. He had numerous violations of the Geneva Convention. He set an all-time record for most vacation days in any one-year period.

And you people still promote the EXACT SAME policies that we had under Bush. The exact same policies that decimated our economy. "Hmmmm...we've given RECORD tax cuts to the wealthy for the past ten years, and we've virtually eliminated any regulation at all on these banks and corporations, and not only has it not created jobs, but there have been job losses that rival the Great Depression. How can we solve this problem? I got it! Let's give BIGGER tax cuts to the rich, and deregulate banks and corporations more!"

I'm sorry, but you people have forfeited your right to criticize Obama or those who voted for him.

Oprah is his master. She vetted him so that he would give our tax money to the billionaires.

He's doing what you want. You wanted answers about birth certificates. Well, you got it.

Don't complain when you get what you want. If you want those problems solved then don't throw up road blocks.

Because no other president has ever done anything like this.
