trans: how do you feel about pictures of yourself?
i was just checking the web page of an organization I'm involved with, and their page of ongoing activities now has a picture of me landing a plane. i don't mind: it's a good landing. i had just had my hair done that afternoon, but david clarke makes it hard to tell... :-)
i would mind a great deal if it said i was trans, but it doesn't. i've never discussed this aspect of me with them (i can't see how it would matter), and don't plan to.
how do others feel about pictures of themselves, online or not? i had difficulty even looking in the mirror at one time, but that's long past. i like what i see.

Pictures I feel are but a moment in time. You don't know what a person is really going to look like until you put that picture in motion.
If you take glamor photography as an example, a very different finished product can be produced from a model.
I often wonder though why more people here do not add pictures to their profiles.
At the least a picture lends some reality to the subject.

I mind them less than I did before I transitioned. I don't believe I had a single picture taken in the preceding 20 years except for the required ones like drivers' license and so on. I've had several taken for various purposes since January. I still don't like them much - I have some surgery scheduled in the next few months - but at least I look something like me now.

I've never liked pictures that were taken of me (I always thought that there was an evil spirit living in every photographic instrument bent on making me look as bad as possible)--- lol.
I have to admit that since transitioning, I mind the pictures a lot less; but I still cringe when I see pictures of myself (is it possible I'm just my own worst critic?)

I feel somewhat the same way I was recently outed by one of my cousins when he showed my friends a picture of him and I the mens locker room at a public pool. Now im too embarrest to return to that pool. I dont blame him though the picture was only 2 years old I guess he thought they already knew or something like that.

I dont really like picss of me while I was living as male. I mean I looked like I was 9 when I was 13! People look at the pictures and mistake me for a 9 year old girl...but atleast I pass.

I've never really been a fan of me and pictures. I'm not a picture taker, plus I look weird in pictures lately.

Well I feel good about pictures about me online or not as long as I look like the gender I identify with. Of course I'm pre-op so I still have the other features... but when I pass I feel really great about myself (:

I'm camera shy, so I don't like having my picture taken. When I see pictures of myself up around the house, I want to tear them down; since they remind of of the lie I've been living.

It doesn't bother me. I also never destroyed my old pictures. They are a part of my life and my sons family history.
