Wenger, who saw his Arsenal team lose to the Spanish champions in the round of 16 in Europe’s premier club competition earlier this season, has hailed Messi and believes that one is forced to “kneel down” to his impressive statistics.
"Messi has qualities that are mental: humility, desire to play, happiness to help the team, always desire, you never see any bad reaction despite all the kicks he gets," said the Frenchman, according to ESPNSoccernet. "When you look at the numbers, you have to kneel down and say they are fantastic.
"When a guy scores 52 goals in modern football and 25 assists, when you see how difficult it is to score a goal, you just have to say it is absolutely exceptional what this player is delivering."

Lionel Messi is undoubtedly one of football's greats.
Anyone who disagrees simply has blinkers on - they are blinded by bigotry.
Give credit where it is due - whatever League he played in, Messi would still be great.
(And I'm saying this about a man who might make life very difficult for my team in the CL final)

Yeah he is pretty awesome.
But hereis another vital statistic, La Liga
he wouldnt come close to scoring 52 goals while playing in the premier league.
Also everything he does is over exagerated, Xavi, Villa and Iniesta must get a lot of credit for most of those 52 goals as well

As impressive as those number is, it not difficult to score a goal when you play for Barca or Real in La liga is it. I agree with the statement the guy is a gem but I for one need him to prove himself in the world cup before I go kneeing down but Barcalona fan should for what he brings to the team.
I don't need him in another league or another team just the world cup.
