Creative ideas for "Something blue". Also, what is your "Something old" and "something borrowed"?

I need a unique "something blue" idea. Im having a fall wedding. blue is not in my color scheme so i want it to be something discrete. Ive seen girls do blue shoes or blue garters. But what else?

Also can my "something old" and "something borrowed" be the same item? My mom has a beautiful Diamond bracelet that my dad bought for her years ago. I absolutely love it and was thinking of asking her if I can wear it on my wedding day. So is that like a 2 for 1? or do you think that's weird or bad luck or something?

sure you can do that for the bracelet..it's your wedding.. there's no rule book sitting around somewhere.

    blue things:

    earrings

    underwear

    nail polish on your toes

one small blue flower in the middle of your bouquet (so nobody can see it)

draw a blue heart on your body, somewhere nobody can really see it (on your leg maybe) with a blue pen.

pin a blue ribbon or blue material to the underside of your dress' skirt.

if you have an other piercings like a navel piercing or something, put in a blue barbell.

    get creative! :)

    good luck.

You could do Sapphire or london blue topaz or another blue stone in jewelry

Blue may not be you color, but if you have jewelry with blue in them, it work

My sister wedding ring was diamond and Sapphire ring

blue under pants(I would do light blue)

    Who would know?

My grandma had something like a penny, it's not when she got married in Ireland

My mom and my aunt and all three of there girls had that in their shoe

My aunt took that back, that was old and borrowed

I think she is saving it for her granddaughters

My cousin and sister borrowed my father grandma pearls

Old and Borrowed, could be the same idem

Does you family or his has something they have brides used?

Some family have handkerchief's that brides carry down the isle

Most something borrowed is a piece of Jewelry, which could be old

For old and borrowed ask your mom or grandma if they have something

I bet they will come up with something, it may be something you mom or her mom or both had at her wedding.

It could be a blue bow in your hair? Or if you have any piercing's you could use a blue stud. Something Uber cute could be blue contact lenses? Just think of a small everyday thing you use, and make it BLUE! :33

And it's your wedding, if you want the 'old' and 'borrowed' to be the same, then hells yeah, go for it. :33

    GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!

My "something old" and "something borrowed" were the same item- an old monogrammed handkerchief my Mom had that was HER Mom's.

So yes, you can definitely combine them.

As for "blue" items, does your mom (or friends and other relatives) have any sapphire jewelry? Or a hankie you can tuck into your garter or bra?

of course they can be the same thing. my something old and something blue were the same thing. it was a little gold brooch engraved with my name and a blue enamelled bird that i wore at my christening as a baby. my something borrowed was a tiny angel pin that my mother lent me (which was my grandmothers before she passed). i pinned them both under the sash on my dress where they were safe but concealed.

its perfectly fine to double up.. honestly the one concept of the something old, new, borrowed and blue thing is just a bit of fun and a tradition.. not everyone does it and if you dont its not bad luck at all.

if you have something thats in your family and means something you should definately use it.

    ideas for something blue:

blue underwear (as long as it doesnt show through the dress of course!)

a tiny blue flower or trinket discretely tucked into your up-do hairstyle

a little blue charm on the bracelet (could even be a blue stone such as sapphire or topaz)

you can even ask the florist to pop in a little blue flower discretely into your bouquet somewhere. or to wrap a blue ribbon underneath the actual ribbon your bouquet is tied with.

Well you don't HAVE to stick to the traditional gifts. Just because paper is for year one doesn't mean you have to do that. In fact, I don't think most couples do that! But if you insist on tradition, then I suggest you 1) write down all the things you love about him on special paper or 2) write out the reasons you love him on strips of pretty paper then put it in a jar so he can pick one out every morning.

    Have you seen brooch bouquets?

I'm throwing up the decision to have one or not, but you could definitely get your something blue, something old, and something borrowed in on it!

    Google them, they are gorgeous!

I used one item that covered both old and borrowed - the garter my mom wore at her wedding.

I wore blue panties. My dress had a very full skirt, so no one was able to tell.
