So till now I'm recover from sick..

No so much anymore. There used to be more observances of common courtesy in the past but society has gotten more ambivalent about these as time has passed. Common courtesies for a man to show a woman were to hold the door open for her as she entered a building, hold her chair for her to sit down, stand when she stood up, etc. Buying small gifts was common although in this instance I would say the phone is more than a small gift. It speaks highly of your boyfriend that he is doing these type of actions as he is at least being courteous and attentive. I would recommend you appreciate it for what it is and return the same level of respect that he is expressing towards you.
