Don't you find it annoying when people say "axe" instead of ask?

    Yes, especially when some stranger comes up to you and says they want to "axe" you something. Then I look nervously for the weapon.

    EDIT: Lizzie Borden probably used this as a defense saying she wanted to know if her parents loved her, and someone suggested she "axe" them to find out.

    my first boss said that all the time, I said, If you keep axing me I won't be able to do my work.

    I dislike bad diction. There is no reason for it at all. It makes a person sound uneducated.
