What is the best pound for pound 1080 HD compatible compact photo camera on the market today?

I am wracking my brains trying to decide which one to opt for, Sony, Panasonic Lumix, Nikion, Canon and Fuji all have amazing cameras on offer, but I'm seriously tempted to opt for a Lumix or a Sony, what say you? - please help me out here.

In my experience the Panasonic TZ10 delivers excellent results at a very modest price.

Still use my old faithful Sony T-10 as a shirt pocket camera and it never let me down. The feel of quality and performance of the high end Sony range never fails to please. But having said that I have no experience of their 1080 HD compatible compacts.

The Fuji compacts and bridge cameras always impressed me with their low light and low noise capabilities, but again I have no first hand experience of their latest models. I find the specs of the Fuji 550 EXR very tempting though.

Strange you should be leaning towards a Sony, that is the only manufactured which I have had undesirable experience......enough said.

Value -wise Fuji would give you the most features and company wise they stand behind their product-based on personal experience.

Canon will probably be more costly feature wise but a great product never-the-less!

Nikon in their less than DSLR's ($500.00 and up) are not as desirable as their more robust DSLR's.
