The Shimano Baitrunner reel is as close as you can get to having an alarm on it. I have several of these reels and they are incredible and easy to use. Look in almost any fishing supply store. All you have to do is flip a lever once you have the line out and in place, set the secondary "Strike" drag and you're set. When the fish stikes or picks up the bait and takes off, the reel lets you know. They've been around for about 15 years now.

Honestly not sure that there's a reel out on the market that has an "alarm" that gives a buzz/noise warning (least not that I've heard of) ? Ones I've seen are the rod tip type and or an alarm that attaches to the pole/rod itself that gives the warning (electronic, bells, etc.). Am sure there's more of em' but, have givin' you a link for some I've found, they be from the UK but, the systems are bout' the same as what is used stateside (U.S.). As for the spinning reel, that'll depend on what your fishin' for, personal preference, co$t, etc.. Just picked them at random but, some good brand reels and rods, just ta' name a few are, Shimano, Daiwa, Penn, Okuma, Abu Garcia <);-3

The best spinning reel hands down is the shimano stradic Ci4, its absolutly unbelievable. Contstruction wise nothing even touches it, it never breaks down, is built supper strong, the drag on it is the smoothest thing iv ever seen and it looks great too. As these guys said there no reel that actully has a bair alarm on it, you can buy indicators tho and bells etc to put on your line and rod tip.

i take advantage of the two, for various purposes. gentle lures/gentle address, or maybe some medium kit i take advantage of spinning. for instantaneous lures or heavy address I solid with a baitcaster. the two way, i'd initiate with a St. Croix rod. p.c.. the dimensions that suitable suits. 6'6-7' is a good beginning element. As for power, discover one which suits your lures. in case you toss extremely some heavy lures (over a million/2oz), get a heavier power rod. in case you throw extremely some sunshine stuff (a million/16oz or much less) you need an extremely gentle action rod. then you definately can get a good reel. i've got used the comparable Quantum baitcaster for 15 years, yet have heard they at the instant are not as good now. SHimano looks to get rave comments...it is my next reel purchase.
