How do Groupons Work?
I just signed up for groupons so I could get coupons for stuff I wanted. But I am cinfused why you need to pay the site money for your coupon. Do you get your money back? Why would you pay money to save money, it just doesnt make sense. If any one could help my it would be great! Thanks!

Buying on Groupon is the same as purchasing a gift card or gift certificate.
You pay Groupon & generally the next day you can print off your Groupon on paper or redeem the codes if it for an online purchase.
For example, last week I bought a Groupon for 3 car washes. This week I printed it off & took it to car wash business. There they took my Groupon printout, washed my car and gave their own certificates for the other two washes. I paid $33 for $75 worth of services.
If you prefer to get the actual gift card rather then printing off a slip of paper, you can try a similar website:

On Plum District I recently paid $10 and they mailed my my $20 pizza chain gift card.

You pay money and it ends up saving you money. I had one the other day that you bought for 10 dollars and it gave you twenty dollars off, so you basically only paid ten dollars for something that was twenty.
So you search for what coupon you want and they can usually either scan it or use a code, depending on the place you are using it at.
