why is a styrofoam cup a better container then a glass beaker?

when doing experiments such as adding NaOH to HCl where the temperature goes up?

    The styrofoam cup is a better insulator than the glass beaker. The loss of energy to the experiment's surroundings will be less in the cup than the beaker. That's why styrofoam bomb calorimetors are used in lower-level chemistry and physics classes.

    It doesn't conduct heat and so the heat will stay in the cup
