To all liberals giving Obama credit for killing Osama, why?
What risk, personally and politically did Obama take in signing an order sending men to kill Osama. If the mission had failed, he simply would have said it was too good of an opportunity to pass up and worth the risk and most Americans would have been okay with it. He did what any president would have done in his position given the facts. There was nothing heroic or courageous about it on his part. All real credit goes to the US intelligence community and the US military. Serious and intelligent answers only if possible libs.
For the record, I did not give Bush personal credit for finding Saddam. Again it was the intelligence community and the military who did the work and gets the credit in my book. The difference here is Bush took great political risk to order the attack on Iraq and remove one of the world's most brutal dictators. Again what risk did Obama take?
BTW it is a great day to be an American regardless of political affiliation.
Okay here is what I got so far:
A. Pure ignorance and hate which is no surprise. No real or intelligent answers on some people's part
B. Credit to Obama because he is currently the President and thus deserves credit for no other reason.
C. Saying Obama focused more on Afghanistan, which I agree and would add any president after Bush would have done as pretty much all the candidates said they would do.
Understand this is not about my dislike for the president as our leader and his policies. This is a serious question regardless of who is or would have been in the office. All I am saying is that there was no risk to Obama personally or politically. It was an easy call to make, yet some act as though Obama single handily found Osama, piloted the helicopters, fired the shot that snuffed out the scum bag's life, and tested the DNA himself.
This day should be about celebrating a great American victory and praising the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice of the members of our intelligen
G: No insult on my part. As you can tell by some of the answers there is a reason I asked for serious and intelligent answers, particularly from liberals. You saying cons are "always" rude and calling me a hypocrite proves my point. I was not being rude or hypocritical. If someone asks me a serious question I will give a serious answer, If someone is trolling, I will respond in kind. As it were, I see few serious and intelligent question or answers on YA particularly in this section.
PoBoy: I agree although as I stated this was NOT a hard decision to make. It doesn't get any easier then saying "get the world's #1 most wanted terrorist" It is a decision anyone in that position would have made.
Cantankerous: You prove my point. Thanks to Obama from you, yet no thanks to the men and women who actually found Osama and the men who risked their lives to execute the president's order. Why is that?
John A: So in other words he acted unilaterally and like a cowboy. Something liberals criticized Bush for doing. By your definition of a good leader then you must have thought Bush was a good leader too.
To all others: If I did not write a response to your answer it is because I have as of this point not read your answer, I accept your answer, even if I may disagree or because you failed to answer seriously or with any intelligence. You all know which category you fall into.
Beardog. Obama still considers Pakistan a great ally, at least publicly like Bush did.

President Obama just happened to be president when they came with the lead. Any other president would've carried out the actions that would've lead to killing Bin Laden.

Perhaps you're unfamiliar with the term "Commander in Chief".
Not to minimize the skill or heroism of our armed forces, but let's face it: For 8 years President Bush called Pakistan a "Valuable Ally in the War against Terror", and stood by their president even when he disbanded congress and issued warrants for their Supreme Court justices, effectively dismantling their democracy. So where do we find Bin Laden? Living in a mansion compound in a gated community just outside Islamabad, where the military officers and Intelligence operatives live.
Lie to yourself if you need to, but this was just one more mess that Bush left behind and Obama cleaned up. There's still plenty left where that came from, but I'm glad to see this one finally dealt with.
Edit: Does he? Because he authorized a military operation on their soil, without their knowledge, and not for the first time. They say you can't argue with results, but here you are...

OK- Obama does deserve the credit- he did make it his "top" priority and he FINALLY did something that he promised. I believe a little modesty would have went a lot further than the "I" speech. It's hard to watch someone pat themselves on the back as much as he did in his speech- I had to quit watching because I was embarrassed by how hard he was trying to gain a few percentage points for his approval rating. Don't be so obvious Obama.

He had the leadership to go into another country and get the scum bag. Unlike some in congress who complain that he didn't go through proper channels like when Libya was bombed. He also ordered it done without help from Pakistan who might have tipped off Bin Laden they were coming. Smooth move you must admit he is a good leader.

I consider myself a Moderate Republican, which is what the party was before it got hijacked by the bible thumpers and the teabag loonies. The Commander in Chief of our armed forces pulled resources out of Bush's Iraq quagmire and dedicated them to doing what they should have been doing all along, finding the SOB who killed 3000 innocent civilians. PS Mondays in general stink, but this one is great.

The intelligence community reports to the President. The president makes these decisions.

The killing of Bin Laden is NOTpolitical. You are right, any president would have okayed the mission. Let's ignore the idiots who try to make it a conservative or liberal victory/conspiracy/hoax.
We do indeed live in a nation of idiots. Thank you for pointing that out.

Bush disbanded the Bin Laden unit in 2006. Obama gave the CIA Director an order to make killing Bin Laden his top priority as soon as he got into office.
Leaders don't conduct the actions, but they set the priorities and provide the resources. Bush did the opposite.

He Lead, was in charge of, and gave the order to execute the mission that killed Bin Laden, that's why. Bush completely failed at this task. President Obama had one of his biggest successes, accomplishing a goal that he set out for himself the minute he took office and he DELIVERED. Hillary clinton and all her people worked out all the issues with Pakistan and the team that OBAMA put in place executed the plan without fail.
THANK YOU BARAK OBAMA FOR GETTING BIN LADEN!
