My driver's permit has expired so do I need to take the test again to get it renewed?

I live in Belle Vernon and my driver's permit expired in January. I looked in the driver's ed book and it says that you can get an application to renew it. But since it's a few months expired will they make me take the permit test again? I appreciate anyone who can answer this for me :D

Actually, your state Department of Motor Vehicles can answer this for you. You should've contacted them first.

Yeah you have to take the test again. The driver's permit lets you practice driving for a year and sometime in that year you must schedule an appointment for a driving test. if not then once your permit is expired then you cant take the driving test anymore unless you renew your permit

Yea you have to take the test over again ever single time you renew it. If it's your permit. I just retook mine a few months ago. It might be different for you cause we live in different states but chances are it's the same.
