How can we get the raccoons out of the space between our roof and the ceiling?
Our house has a low-pitched roof. It's almost flat, and there's not room for an attic, but there is a space of some inches --maybe 8 to 10 or 12 inches in places -- between the roof and the ceiling. A family of raccoons has gotten in there and they are having a big time and sometimes having squabbles and parties. How can we get them out of there?
Someone told us they had heard of blasting them out with loud music ... but our next-door neighbors might not like that.
There is a small visible hole in the outside wall, up under the eaves, that the raccoons use as an entry. I don't think it would do to close that up, because then they would be trapped inside the house, and of course we wouldn't want one to die there.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of those raccoons, without getting into major re-roofing?

We had the same issue in our old house. Over the course of almost a decade several raccoon families made their home in our roof and even walls (sometimes the babies would fall into a wall and squeal all night--I went into labor one night when this was going on.)
Get a black and decker noise maker. Leave in on somewhere where they will hear it anytime you are not home. You can leave it on when you are home, but it is a bit annoying. If you have pets, it will drive them mad. They are made to deter rodents and other animals. You can buy them on amazon for around $30. We used them in our yard to keep the deer away--that's how good they are. It worked wonderfully until we went on vacation and the neighbors had someone turn them off.
Good luck. Here is the product link:

i assume you're in united statesa., and that i do no longer comprehend in case you may get those previous sort little blocks that was once hung in a rest room. They smell strongly like lemon. I heard small rodents do in comparison to them. I stay interior the timber and we've martens that chew on the rubber factors decrease than the hood of a vehicle. no would desire to tell that would end as much as authentic harm, if to no longer a foul twist of destiny. We placed considered one of those rest room blocks decrease than the hood and the martens seem to hate it and now go away the vehicles on my own. i'm hoping it additionally is going for squirrels! a minimum of you are able to attempt to place a number of those interior the gap between de ceiling and the roof, that's a low priced approach. There are some electric powered instruments too that make a valid they hate, that's a answer too. good success and greetings from Holland!
