The 8th Gen Civic SI is a better all-rounder. The SI's motor is smoother due to a balance shaft. It has more interior room, especially in the back seat. The SI rides better, and comes with a much better stereo. The SI also has better seats, electronic "vehicle stability assist," and a limited-slip differential.

The RSX-S feels more raw, and it's a bit more fun to drive. It's also lighter than the Civic SI, making the RSX-S slightly faster.

I shopped both in early 2007. Ended up buying a new SI coupe. I liked it, it was the best "all around" car I've owned, and I regret selling it.
